Flensburg's Nordermarkt is basically the culinary center of the city, everything you could wish for is represented here. From cafés and restaurants to fish sandwiches, nothing is left to be desired. Directly in front of the front door is the pier for the historic excursion steamer “Alexandra” on one side and Flensburg’s shopping street begins on the other, which extends from Nordermarkt to Südermarkt and even further into Rote Straße. There are two very good bakeries practically on the doorstep, which can be reached in 2 minutes on foot and ensure a good start to the day.

You can also go on trips to the surrounding area without your own car. You can get to the pier from the saloon steamer “Alexandra” or from the central Flensburg bus station, which can be reached in just a few minutes. With your own car you can quickly reach the numerous beaches and a trip to Denmark can also be started; the Danish border can be reached after about 15 minutes.
